Has anyone modded it with a ESP8266 NodeMCU and SiS5351 clock generator?
Apparently this makes it much more versatile.
Hi Someone,
I've modded two different GBS 8200 boards (Which the Upscaler was based on) with an ESP and a clock generator. GBS Control delivers a really nice and versatile video sync solution. It doesn't cope with CGA out of the box still, but I use the Necroware adapter with my Microbees to get the video into a format that the GBS likes.
The mod is reasonably easy as long as you have a steady hand to solder the wires to the SiS5351. I ended up using wire wrap wire and a really big magnifying glass for that and it worked well.
The only thing I have thrown at it that it didn't like so far has been my Neo Geo, and that is a real "b***h" to get working with any scaler. (I eventually used an Extron DVS 605 for that. Total overkill but it worked)

Hope this helps!
