Hi David,
I'm not in Brisbane, but I have two BBCs. I have BBC Micro and a BBC Master. They are nice little machines and quite fast. The Master also has a "PiTube" coprocessor board fitted internally. I'm looking at getting some Sideways RAM for the BBC Micro next. I also have an Electron.
if your system has the FDD controller chips fitted, adding a Gotek is an easy upgrade that lets you play games from disk. Otherwise, I can highly recommend the TurboMMC style user port SD card interfaces as you get access to a huge library of games that are literally a click of a key away.
