Repository Access - MbeeTech - 05-11-2019 Hello All. To go along with the Microbee Technology Forum, we have a file repository to make available lots of Microbee information and software. Over time, we will add extra information and software for other vintage computer systems (non-microbee). Please note though, that the repository, and this forum, is maintained by Microbee Technology and volunteers as time and resources are available. Also, the repository, and the items in it, are being made available at no cost to the end user. We do this to encourage a community spirit and provide a place to talk about (the forum) and get supporting software and documentation (from the repository). To gain access to the repository is simple: Follow this link, and fill out the web form if you agree to abide by the terms and conditions (effectively an End User License Agreement). On submission of the web form, Microbee Technology will receive your request & process it as time permits. The process is not automatic - that is, someone has to read your request and create an account in the repository for you manually. After this is done, you will receive an email with your login link and initial password (which you should then login with and change to something you choose). If you require assistance with the repository ( how to download items etc.. ) please ask questions in this thread. One further note. As noted in the terms and conditions, the items in the repository are there for download for individuals as long as the items are not redistributed in any way. Please don't abuse this. The vast back-catalog of software, and documentation is being made available at no cost, but we still retain ownership and copyright over the works. There are quite a few of the files that we will be able to determine that they came from our repository if they are found appearing in other places. If there is a particular use that you have that requires redistribution, please talk to us and get permission & or rights to do so. There is now a second option for getting access to files in the repository. If you don't want, or need access to the files that require signing an End User Agreement (Microbee Technology Intellectual property), then you can request access to the rest of the files (publicly available information - Public and Vintage Repositories) by clicking on the following link : https://www.microbeetechnology.com.au/MTFR_Access/MTFR_Access_NonEUA.htm An account will be set up for you in the repository which will give you log in access for the non-restricted areas. Best regards to all, RE: Repository Access - greg221b - 18-11-2019 Hi Ewan, Do you have your repository up and running? I haven't anything since putting my application in, just thought I'd ask. Greg RE: Repository Access - MbeeTech - 20-11-2019 Hi Greg. Your access was approved the first time you sent the request. It seems that the approval email that gets sent through the repository is not going out, or is getting lost somehow. I've sent you an email with your access details. RE: Repository Access - 66hiker - 23-11-2019 Hi Ewan, I am also waitng for access to the repositry, I may have the same problem as i have not received an email yet. Thanks RE: Repository Access - MbeeTech - 25-11-2019 (23-11-2019, 09:00 PM)66hiker Wrote: Hi Ewan,Hello Matthew. We've not received an access request form from you - I've been through all the emails for this and cannot find one from you, hence no reply. Please go to : http://www.microbeetechnology.com.au/MTFR_Access/MTFR_Access.htm and fill out the form. After we receive your access request, I'll send you an email with login info. RE: Repository Access - elpiggio - 01-12-2019 Also having trouble with Repository Access - have filled in the form a few times over the past weeks but not received any email. Hi Paul, I checked on a reply I sent you last week this morning, only to find it went to the wrong email address. I sent out the instructions again this morning (to the correct email address this time!), so if you don't get it, and have looked in spam / junk email boxes, let me know. Regards, Ewan. RE: Repository Access - IanMcLean - 09-12-2019 Hey Ewan (and ChickenMan), Great work getting the repository together! I'm just wondering what is going to happen with the MSPP now that we have a repository here. It looks as if most, if not all, of the repository has been duplicated, so is the MSPP repo going to be continued to be updated, or will it eventually be obsolete as the new repository here takes over? Does our repo here include both the normal repository plus the Technology (copyrighted materials) content from MSPP? Regards, Ian M RE: Repository Access - ChickenMan - 10-12-2019 Hi Ian, what happens over at the mspp is totally up to the admin there. As you can see, they have put very little in their repository in the past 12 months, so who knows the long term. I have continued archiving material since my departure there and currently releasing it here with much more to come. The Repository here has all of MT copyrighted material plus some of the old Repository but that is slowly being added in as its being checked, cleaned up if needed and re-processed while trying to keep the repository simpler to find things. RE: Repository Access - greybeard - 10-12-2019 Hi Ewan Had a read of the terms and conditions for repository access and I'm a little perturbed about them. There seems to be a lot of duplication and at least one of the terms would be impossible to comply with (D, in particular theft). I can't see how anyone can be responsible for preventing redistribution once it has been taken by theft and is therefore out of the control of the original downloader. At this stage, and I know the world isn't going to end as a result, I can't agree with your terms. I understand concerns regarding copyright and liability but I believe that you need to seriously look at the terms and conditions and reduce them to a more 'realistic' ( and potentially enforceable ) agreement. ie 1/ Copyright is held by copyright holder. 2/ Zero warranty regarding content, if it does or doesn't work, it's your problem not MB tech. Liability zip. 3/ Don't be a twat about passing downloads around. Just because you've downloaded it doesn't imply transfer of copyright or ownership. Cheers Rod 3/ |
