Hello,
I was looking through Youtube clips and came across the Microbee 40th anniversary video. It brought back so many memories. In 1984 I was involved in trialling computers in primary schools for the Department of Education in NSW.
A mass of boxes containing computers arrived and we had to set them up. At that time programs were loaded via a cassette player. The programs we were given were boring. Don Howard and myself said we could do better. We were told in no uncertain terms that there was no way we could write programs and we should leave it to the experts.
WHAT A CHALLENGE! We did write programs and enjoyed some success. I am going to write a longer item on the trials and tribulations that we over came.
Now I am keen to get my hands on a working Microbee and retrieve Beesware programs from the repository.
I want to show my grandchildren what Pop did when computers were still a novelty.
Cheers
Peter
