From my recent purchase of Microbee material there was an original disk titled SPREAD. There was also a disk titled SPREAD PATCH. Both were standard Microbee 5.25" DS40 disks, auto-booting with no copy protection. Both imaged 100% error free using my Floppyio.
Spread was produced by the Education Department of Western Australia in 1987 via Wesoft. There was also the Manual included with the disk but we already have a quality scan of that manual in the repository. From the manual -
SPREAD is a simulation of a spreadsheet program. It is designed to
be used as an introduction to the functions of a spreadsheet prior
to the use of a commercial level spreadsheet such as MULTIPLAN.
The functions available throughout SPREAD have been deliberately
restricted so that students are able to become familiar with the
principles involved and procedures.
SPREAD is suitable for use in computer awareness and information
processing courses as well as in such areas as Business Education,
Economics, Science and Home Economics.
These was a PATCH disk to patch the Spread program, however, I cannot find anything describing what it actually patches in Spread or why. So thanks to "someone" who decoded the program and workout that the patch is doing something with commas, linefeeds and carriage returns, etc. This has already been done.
So in the MbeeTech Repository in the Microbee/Software/Education folder we placed
spread_ds40.dsk
spread_patch_ds40.dsk
