Thanks to ejwords for making this disk available to be imaged. It was a standard single sided bootable 3.5" ss80 disk that imaged 100% error free.
This is dBASE II ver 2.41 that was released in February 1984 by Ashton-Tate Inc. and has been configured for the Microbee. It is a database management tool that allows for easy manipulation of small and medium sized databases using English-like commands. It is readily available on the internet but not on a Microbee disk and was the leader in relational database back in the 80's and later versions still used today. Despite its name, dBase II was the first in the dBase range of programs released by Ashton-Tate and the only version that runs on CP/M.
With little internal help in the program, it was essential to use its manual to get started. These were eventually located in multiple parts, all were joined and converted to normal searchable PDFs in 2 separate manuals. These being Vol 1 User Manual and Vol 2 Reference Manual at 200 and 168 pages long respectively.
So today in the MbeeTech Repository in the Software/Applications folder we placed
dbase_II_v2.41_ss80.dsk
dbase_II_user_manual.pdf <--- in Documentation/Manuals/Software folder
dbase_II_reference_manual.pdf
