WordMaster is a small simple wordprocessor that was originally written in 1976 by John Robbins Barnaby using 8080 assembler during the early days of MicroPro International Inc and was the basic for building well known Wordstar. This version 1.20 was released in October 1982.
There are many copies of WordMaster version 1.20 across the internet, but all seam to be the same copy. Unfortunately none of then will run on the Microbee as they are all setup for a VT100 terminal and the original Install program is not provided. However, recently found was the data needed to manually patch it for other terminals and fix a couple of bugs, one which allows the whole HELP file to be seen. This was done and it now runs just fine on a Microbee CIAB and 128k. The text file used for patching it is also included on the disk.
The only manual found was for an earlier version v1.07 but most seams applicable to this version also. It has a few missing pages, originally many pages duplicated and was full of blank pages. The doc was cleaned up but the couple of missing pages are still missing until something better can be found.
Some Notes : When you run the program, ^J brings up help and using ^J again will move onto the following help pages. ESC get to Command Mode and there, H saves your file and returns to Edit mode, E saves your file and Exits to CP/M while Q lets you Quit without saving. There is a small saved file on the disk also.
So in the Mbeetech repository in the Microbee/Software/Applications/Wordprocessor folder we placed
wordmaster_v1.20_ss80.dsk
wordmaster_v1.07_manual.pdf <-- in Documentation/Manuals/Software folder
