Two new Microbee Tapes recovered - ChickenMan - 27-03-2025 Thanks to CT for supplying recordings of these two tapes and scans of their cassette inserts and labels. Recorded at 44.1kHz and saved as 24 bit WAV stereo files. After some minor repairs these were down graded to 22kHz and 16 bit mono WAV files (to reduce their file size) which all load into ubee512 emulator as a PC85 error free. The Moving With Maths tape, written by Paul Travis, has one 300 baud program on both sides A & B. Side A program was titled Counting Numbers while side B was Loseing Numbers. These are designed for use in grade one maths and are intended to augment the maths books being adapted by many schools at the time. This has been a missing tape and programs from the Repository, until now. The Learning Can Be Fun 3A tape has one 300 baud program on both sides A & B. Side A program was titled Gremlins Fractions while side B has Gremlins Money. Both written by John Grimley in June 1985. We already have the 2 programs on Education_09 disk but not as tape files. All the programs have a Loader preceding the main program, so this prevents you from loading via the Monitor or using LOADU. As a result, it takes about 25 sec before the programs actually start to load. They were all BASIC programs and were saved out as MWB files that are also included in the Zip file of each of the programs. The cassette labels and inserts were also scanned and made available here. So in the MbeeTech Repository in the Microbee/Software/Tapes/Original folder we placed moving_with_maths_side_A.zip moving_with_maths_side_B.zip gremlins_fractions.zip gremlins_money.zip moving_with_maths.jpg <-- in the Documentation\Pictures\Tapes folder learning_can_be_fun_vol_3a.jpg |
