Talking Electronics project and data books - ChickenMan - 21-02-2020

Thanks to Stephen M. for lending his collection of 15 TE books to be scanned.  All were A4 in size and varied from 24 to 100 pages with 76 paged being the majority.  All scanned at 300dpi and converted to searchable PDF's.

All were copyrighted and written by Colin Mitchell except for one by Ken Stone and were produced from 1983 to 1994.  Both have given their permission to release these in our Repository, so a big thanks to both.

While this collection is a great start to the collection, it is not complete as there are other known issues produced.  So if anyone else has any different one, we would love to hear from you.  The contents of each volume is vast and just to much to present here but their title will give a good idea of their contents. The Databook covers the COS/MOS B-SERIES, HS-C2MOS & 74HC00 SERIES.

There was also a 26 page document titled TEC TIMES dated 5/3/90 which was produced after Talking Electronics #15 and before the proposed #16 (which was never released). It contains a listing for the game SIMON, discussion and listing about SMON, Turbo Oscillator, Fast Forward programs, the 8255 PPI, crash proTECtor, JMON Perimeter Handler, 16bit compares, Serial routines for the TEC and an Error File. So lots to read.

So in the Repository in the Vintage\Talking_Electronics\TE_Magazines & Books folder we placed

RE: Talking Electronics project and data books - ChickenMan - 20-05-2020

Thanks to archive.org a further 2 additional Talking Electronics books have been found.  Again, they were resized to correct page size, aged orange pages returned to white, de-skewed, OCR'ed and converted to a searchable PDF.

The 5 Projects to Build was prepared for TALKING ELECTRONICS Interactive by Colin Mitchell (Owner of Talking Electronics), to teach beginners the practical side of electronics. The 5 projects are:-

1. A two-transistor high gain amplifier
2. A LED flashing circuit
3. A Flip Flop circuit to alternately flash two LEDs
4. A Fibre Optic project to create a miniature sign
5. A Simple Siren Project using a touch plate to raise and lower the tone

The Electronics for Model Railways Book 2 was written by Ken Stone and complements the existing 1st book thats already in the Repository.  Topics covered are :

Level Crossing Lights
Economy Power Supply Signals
Tunnel Stretcher & Station Signal
Computers and Model Railways
Delay Module
Walk-Around Throttle
Servo Controller
Diesel Sound Generators
Simple PWM Throttle
Fibre Optics

So in the Vintage Repository in the Talking_Electronics\TE_Magazines folder we placed
