Some Microbee Basic program listings with their programs - ChickenMan - 16-12-2024

From an ebay purchase awhile back (and a few I've had here for sometime), there were printout of a few Microbee programs, a couple of which we dont have in the Repository. They were scanned, converted to a searchable PDF and the text extracted. This was then checked through to change the many O/0 and l/1 mixups, which were corrected. These text files were then loaded into Basic with -

OPEN"i",6,"file.text":IN#6 ON

and when loaded, a CLOSE 6 applied and finally Saved as an MWB file.

The Club Address and Typing Tutor were both copywrite to © Microflex and written by John Dowdall in 1983.  So their zip files contains the PDF listing, the TXT file extracted and the MWB file saved ready to run.  As their names suggest, Club Address is a nice database program for storing Club Members details such as an address, phone number, etc. Typing Tutor can help with better keyboarding.

Bomber Raid we already have on one of our disks, see Games_02 disk in the Repository. Written by Garry Smith and released via the AUSBUG User Group. A nice easy to play arcade game.

Concentration we also have on our disks, see Games_07 and the honeysoft_family_games_vol_1 disks in the Repository. Written by B W Pratt in 1982 and released by Microbee. Its a very good version of the MEMORY game. Drawings of objects are hidden in a matrix and players attempt to remember their locations to find matching pairs.

BLOCK is a game by P Galea 1984 where you eat as many of the stars as you can without being blocked in.

Evil Beevil is a game by Hans Enklaar, a SMUG member. Evil Beevil will jump his motorcycle using the amount of throttle supplied by you.

Graphics Editor, author unknown, allows you to draw PCG Graphics and print the data to your printer.

Grave Digger, author unknown, appears to be a simple Adventure game.

So in the MbeeTech Repository in the Microbee\Documentation\Program_Listings folder we placed

club_address.zip <-- contains PDF, TXT and MWB files
touch_typing.zip <-- contains PDF, TXT and MWB files
bomber_raid.pdf
concentration.pdf
block.pdf
evil_beevil.pdf
graphics_editor.pdf
grave_digger.pdf

Thanks from an update by CheshireNoir, Grave Digger was listed in the Usborne Creepy Computer Games book in 1983 for the ZX81 computer. The book is available from archive.org, see Page 10. It appears relatively easy to be converted to the MIcrobee. Others are probably easy to translate to the Microbee also, anyone wants to give it a go ?
