Old computers for disposal - MbeeTech - 23-05-2024 Hello Everyone. From time to time I get emails from people wanting to move on their computer equipment to people who would appreciate the items. Today I've been contacted by a gentleman named Peter who lives in Blackburn Victoria with a large list of items that he would like to see go to a new home. Peter, generously, does not want any money for the items, but needs them collected (will not be sending items out). First come first served, IE: post here (below) about an item you are wanting to collect and I'll pass your details on. Be fair : select one or 2 items and give others a go. If there are items unspoken for after a week, pop your name down then. Here is the list: 64K Dynamic (C1AB) Early 1986. Computer in Book Single 31/2 inch floppy. Picking two - will be driving over from Adelaide. Do you know if/which machines are working Ewan? Picking two - will be driving over from Adelaide. I believe the power supply in the CIAB has done it's usual explosion of RIFA caps and needs fixing. That was the only one I got any status on in regards to being faulty. All the other items are just 'Aged'. I assume that means working when last used, but don't know if it works now. I'll be going to Peters place on Saturday, so will take some photos and see what other info I can glean regarding the state of functionality. RE: Old computers for disposal - MbeeTech - 27-05-2024 Hi All. I visited Peter on Saturday and while I took a couple of photos, it was hard to get a clear shot of individual items. I will say that I saw the NEC PC-8201 portable (much like a Tandy model 100) and it is in excellent condition, complete with leather case. Greg, the CIAB & 64k keyboard look good too. As Greg has been the only one to respond here so far after a few days, no restriction on the number of items you'd like to call dibbs on. Greg, I'll pass your details on to Peter and he will get in touch with you in regards to collecting the items you are interested in. RE: Old computers for disposal - greg221b - 27-05-2024 Ooo, I'd love to grab that Model 100 too please. ![]() And would love to grab the Apple 2e. Thanks Ewan. There is no model 100 - it's a NEC PC-8201, (much like the model 100) Regarding the apple II, someone offline has put their hand up for the Z80card that is in it, and I'm waiting on a reply as to whether they want the whole machine. If I don't hear back, it's yours. RE: Old computers for disposal - greg221b - 27-05-2024 Ooops, sorry, NEC PC-8201. Was still half asleep this morning. :| Thanks Ewan. Greg RE: Old computers for disposal - greg221b - 28-05-2024 Hi again Ewan, I hate to appear greedy. :| Could I please also grab the KeyTronics KB5151 keyboard? I showed the list to a friend as nobody else seemed to be jumping in: So, could I please grab the Digital Venturis 466 PC for him please? Thanks, Greg RE: Old computers for disposal - MbeeTech - 29-05-2024 No Worries Greg. I've passed your email address on to Peter with the list of items you are interested in. I'm going to close this off now. |
