RASE folder has now been added in the Vintage Repository - ChickenMan - 11-04-2024 I recently obtained a S-100 system (more on that later) and it contained a RACEFDC Floppy Disk Controller card together with its Operation Manual. The card was photographed and the manual scanned and converted to a searchable pdf as usual. The manual is A4 in size and is 85 pages long. RASE or Research And Scientific Engineering, Mitchum, Victoria made a number S-100 cards including a CPU RASE80 card. From the RASEFDC manual - The rasefdc is the floppy disk controller board features the Western Digital three chip controller set, that is, the WD1795 double density controller, the WD1691 floppy support logic chip and the WD2143-01 four phase clock generator. The use of these chips has allowed very extensive disk controller functions to be carried out with a comparatively low chip count. The outstanding feature of this board is its tolerance to drive type mixing, it may be used with mini or full-size disk drives, single or double sided, or single or double density type drives, in any combination thereof. A couple of RASE adverts from Rod Irving featuring the RASEFDC and RASE80 cards were also found in the magazines and included here. So in the Vintage Repository in the new RASE folder we placed rasefdc_operation_manual.pdf rasefdc_s-100_board_front.jpg rasefdc_s-100_board_back.jpg rase80_S-100_board.jpg rasefdc_&_rase80_advert_ea_83_12.pdf ritronics_rase80_advert_eti_83_06.pdf rod_irving_rase80_&_rasefdc_advert_eti_84_05.pdf |
