Real World Interfaces for the Microbee book - ChickenMan - 16-09-2023
From my recent purchase of Microbee material there was a book titled Real World Interfaces for the Microbee. A4 in size and 26 pages long. Scanned at 600dpi and converted to a searchable PDF as usual.
It was written by J Fuller in 1985 with some help from a number of other people. From the book -
Using funds made available through the 1984 Computer Education Program, the
aim is to design, evaluate and report on interfaces for the Microbee computer.
The intention is to collate information about such interfaces and present it
in a format easily understood by programmers and operators alike.
The 'parallel port' was selected as the most appropriate socket to access,
thereby leaving the 34 pin port for use with the disc. (50 pin on other than
64K and 128K. )
The 'interface' itself is merely the circuitry needed to access the computer
directly, through such devices as remote switches or sensing apparatus,
while allowing direct output to control devices such as relays and switches.
The following information has been gleaned from a multitude of sources and is
presented here in order to simplify the task for those of you interested in
applying such interfaces to your own situation.
