ASHWELL CENSUS disks for the Microbee - ChickenMan - 31-08-2023

From my recent purchase of Microbee material there was an original disk of ASHWELL CENSUS and its DATA disk. The disks were standard Microbee 5.25" DS40 disks that are auto-booting and with no copy protection. The disk imaged 100% error free on a Floppyio. Unfortunately there was no manual for this program, can anyone help there, but is similar to SOMERLEYTON Census program which does have a manual.

The program was produced by the Schools Computing Branch of the Education Department of Western Australia and released by Wesoft in 1987. It was written by B V Cross who also wrote Birds of Antarctica, First Fleet and many others. The program only runs on a 128k (std or premium) Microbee with 2 x 5.25" drives though opening screen on a std 128k without colour option installed looks distorted, but after that it runs fine. A 3.5" DS80 option was prepared by copying both DS40 disks to the one DS80 disk and a one byte change to stop it looking for B: drive.

The program starts with -

Aswell Census is a collection of information about people

England at the time of the 1841, 1851 and 1861 census.

So in the MbeeTech Repository in the Microbee\Software\Education folder we placed
