The company started off in 1970 as DD Webster Electronics Pty Ltd based in the outer Melbourne suburb of Bayswater by David Webster, the Managing Director. In late 1984 the company had changed its name to Webster Computer Corporation and had also widened its product range considerably. In 1993 it further changed its name to Webster Computer Systems.

As well as DEC PDP-11 compatible Spectrum Elevens, Webster manufactures video terminals and boardlevel products. The company has established a reputation for reliability and support and has attracted many local software OEM companies who package Spectrums with their own industry-specific software to produce turnkey solutions.
The most important single application package in Webster’s success story has been Monash University’s Educational Computer System (Monecs), a software package comprising operating system with integrated set of compilers and applications programs.

In the mid 80's they opened a US office in Sunnyvale, California where they were selling DEC-compatible add-on memory boards to American minicomputer users. But in 2016 the company had been bought out of liquidation by Sydney-based Fourier Technologies. Their old US based websites can be seen via the WayBackMachine - Welcome to Webster Computer Corporation (archive.org) but only goes back to Dec 1998.

With an internet search for Webster material, all I have been able to find is a few Manuals (from their US office), some pictures and a heap of magazine and newspaper articles. But it's a start.

So in the Vintage Repository in the new Webster folder we placed the following
