I cant help myself, a disk of Chicken Adventures for the Microbee - ChickenMan - 30-11-2022 There was ChickenComp competition back in 1998 for writing an Interactive Fiction (Text Adventure) game with a Chicken theme. There were 19 entries of which 13 were Z-Inform Z5 files. So with the newly released VEZZA-MA Inform loader by sijnstra, thanks again, and with all 13 games just fitting onto the one Microbee DS80 disk, I though why not. The disk is bootable on a CIAB with double sided 3.5" drive and a 128k 'bee. All the files came from https://ifdb.org/search?searchfor=tag:ChickenComp and each entry appears to have a Walkthrough available also (not included here). Using ubee512 emulator, just use ubee512 vezza-ma filename.z5 to run a game. The winner of the competition was Chickens of Distinction by Liza Daly while Chicken! by Gunther Schmidl came last. The games are :- chkn-at.z5 - Chicken and Egg, by Adam Thornton chkn-dc.z5 - The X Chicken, by David Cornelson chkn-gs.z5 - Chicken!, by Gunther Schmidl chkn-jg.z5 - Pollo y Camino, by Jay Goemmer chkn-ld.z5 - Chickens of Distinction, by Liza Daly chkn-ls.z5 - The Chicken Under the Window, by Lucian P. Smith chkn-mt.z5 - Are you Too Chicken to Make a Deal?, by Mitchell Taylor chkn-oo.z5 - Hey, I'm Supposed to Be Free Range, by Opal O'Donnell chkn-rn.z5 - The Lesson of the Chicken, by Rob Noyes chkn-rs.z5 - Saied, by Robb Sherwin chkn-sb.z5 - The one about the chicken, the lion and the monkey?, by Sam Barlow chkn-wsb.z5 - Behavior, by William Shlaer chkn-wso.z5 - Orpington, by William Shlaer So in the Microbee Repository in the Microbee\Software\Games\Adventure folder we placed chicken_adventures_ds80.dsk |
