Replacement Regulators - CheshireNoir - 16-09-2022

Hey Folks,
In an effort to keep the temps down on my 'bees, I was thinking of replacing the 7805 regulators with modern Traco replacements.
Does anyone know how many amps the various 7805s are likely to draw? There's obviously a difference in price between a 0.5A Traco and a 1.5A Traco :-D
Mostly the ones under the keyboards concern me. I can just upsize to 1.5A if there are any worries.

Cheers!

John

Other than the ones supplied with the Keyboard Replacement kits (no idea of their rating), I've only replaced the 2 voltage regulators on the core boards with 0.7W ones, like these https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/134191370167

Cheers Chickenman!

I might just get the 1.5A ones to go under the keyboard for now. I figure they're so hard to get to, I may as well replace them while I'm under here.

Hi John,
Its only the surge that they need to handle. The combined power draw for all three regulators in the Microbee is less than 1.5 A total, so individual rating of 1.5 A should be ample. I have used 3A ones in several systems, but only because I had a hand full on hand at the time.
