Trying to find / get to work Emu Joust - CheshireNoir - 03-04-2022 Hi Folks, I'm trying to find a version of Emu Joust (As a colleague has expressed an interest in playing it at our next local Retro Hardware meetup) I'm currently loading off tape as I don't have a disk based system (yet) I've downloaded the emu_joust_1200b version from the repository, but it just crashes with "Bad Load". It seems to be the only tape file that does that I have hit so far. (Defender, by comparison, loads fine) I'm loading off an Android phone directly in. I was wondering if A) There was a different version of the WAV file or B) I'm missing some "obvious" trick for loading the version I have. Cheers! Chesh RE: Trying to find / get to work Emu Joust - ChickenMan - 03-04-2022 Loading needs the volume correct, if to low it wont load without error. I just loaded the emu_joust_1200b.wav file into a PC85 via the emulator and it loaded fine. But there is also in the Tapes\Converted folder a converted emu joust file which is also 1200baud, so give that a go. RE: Trying to find / get to work Emu Joust - CheshireNoir - 03-04-2022 Thanks ChickenMan, I'll fiddle with the volume and try again. I did have a look at the "converted" folder, but wasn't sure how to use .bee files with a real Microbee. Cheers! Chesh RE: Trying to find / get to work Emu Joust - ChickenMan - 03-04-2022 Okay, but the "converted" tape file is a WAV file not a BEE file. RE: Trying to find / get to work Emu Joust - CheshireNoir - 03-04-2022 Oops my bad. I think I may have been looking in the wrong repository. I'll try that one now. Chesh Yep that version worked fine :-) Thanks for that, ChickenMan. I'm sure there will be many games of Emu Joust at our next Retro Meet. (Technically it's the Perth Amiga Users Group meetup, but I am being heavily petitioned to bring both my Microbee AND my Acorn Electron. As you can tell we're not that fussed about being Amiga purists. In fact, the prize for the night is going to be a Commodore 64!) Chesh |
