Premium to Premium Plus upgrades - MbeeTech - 17-11-2020 Hello all. There is the possibility that we will make upgrades to Premium Plus available for Premium based Microbee owners. What this involves : * In Store upgrade only due to the complexity of the upgrade. * Removal of old coreboard * addition of extra connector for coreboard to baseboard connections * link cuts & additions * updating PCG RAM to 32k from 16k * applying ECO's to baseboard * comprehensive testing * supply of 1 x  2GB SDcard with Microbee disk images on it. For those who want to do it themselves, someone recommends that you use a professional quality desoldering tool like the Pace SX100 Sodr-X-tractor. It'll save you from the grief from inferior desoldering solutions. In addition to desoldering, the Sodr-X-tractor also is able to remove excess solder from component legs and PCB pads. Desoldering waste disposal is clean and simple using the disposable Flux/Sodr Trap. (Yes, as per the animation, desoldered components can fall out with just with gravity!) Here are the specifications of the Premium Plus for reference:  (for the full Premium plus as a kit) Dual Microprocessors * Z80 microprocessor @ 3.375Mhz * Coldfire V2 (MCF52259) @ 80Mhz * 2 Megabytes Ram (1Mbyte shared space, 1Mbyte exclusive to the Coldfire processor)  32k PCG Ram, 2K Color Ram, 2K Attribute ram, 4K font rom Original Premium Series Case, Full 64 Key Keyboard with newly sourced keyswitches & keytops. Microbee standard DB15 Parallel port,  Microbee standard DB25 Serial port, Second serial port for up to 115k baud, Physical Floppy disk interface supporting up to 2 external floppy drives (option), SD Card interface for file storage, with Floppy Disk emulation in ‘Z80’ mode  - status indicator LED for SD activity^. Ethernet Network port (10/100) including status indicator LEDs for Link Valid & Speed.  Monochrome composite Video out,  Color composite Video out (option),  Color TTL video out (DB9 to monitor), Built in software : Disk boot prom, Self Test, Machine Langauge Monitor.  Other software on SDcard : uCLinux, Z80 mode Microbee Shell etc.
