Microbee Matilda Servicing Notes - ChickenMan - 22-06-2020

Thanks to vivid for making these notes available to be scanned. The notes were A4 in size, 6 pages long and simply stapled together in top left corner.

The MATILDA SERVICING NOTES were compiled by Max Maughan on the 19th December 1990.  Reading these note, I can see why the Matilda never really "took off".  From the notes :-

The Microbee Matilda was designed with dartboard technology. For
this you need a component catalog, a diagram of the board size
and two darts. One dart is thrown at the catalog to select the
component and the other at the board layout, to find out where to
place it.
To try and get usefull information from the Matilda R and D engineers,
is like trying to get blood from a stone. The following information has
been compiled by a production engineer.
When servicing a Matilda don't be in a hurry, the Matilda won't let
you hurry anyway.

The chapters include :-
1. GETTING STARTED
2. THIS AND THAT FAILED BEFORE READING A DISK
3. BATTERY POWER DOWN
4. DISK LOAD PROBLEMS
5. MODIFICATIONS ON THE BOARDS MARK I and MARK II VERSIONS
6. JUMPER LINKS MARK I BOARDS ONLY
7. POST FATAL ERRORS
8. KEYBOARD INTERFACE BOARD
9. HEAT SINK
10. BIOS VERSION 1.05

So in the MbeeTech Repository in the Microbee/Documentation/Manuals/Technical folder we placed
