The Twilight Zone Adventure Game disk + walkthrough and maps - ChickenMan - 17-05-2020 This text adventure game was originally found on an Excalibur 64 disk complete with its C source code. When run, on the title screen it finally comes up with this line - ?Dimensions out of range at address 1423 Looking at the source code, this is not an error and its just printed to the screen, you press Return and the game continues. The game was written by R Rodman, originally in 1981 in z80 assembler but in 1983 he started converting it to C, using C/80. In 1985 he added the ability to compile for MS-DOS and a bit later for the Atari ST also. The code calls in TERMINAL.SYS, a file that includes the setup code for the terminal you are running. The Excalibur 64 uses the ADM3a terminal the same as the Microbee, so all good. But the TERMINAL program needed to generate this sys file was missing. A search eventually showed the game was on a C User Group disk number 136. I pulled out my old CUG CD-ROM and sure enough, there it was, an updated version plus TERMINAL.COM. The object of The Twilight Zone Adventure Game is one of the first things that you must discover. Certain clues will only be given once, so you must pay close attention to all that goes on around you. If you get "stuck", try talking to a friend who is familiar with the game and take a close look at all of the clues that you have collected. This game has a very large universe. It is essential that you make maps as you go along. Look out for traps and mazes which will be particularly hard to find your way around in and out of. It is also essential that you SAVE regularly. A very big thanks to OldBee for beta testing the game and writing up a file of Hints, Maps, Room index and a Walkthrough. So read it only if you get stuck.
