FileServer II Board & 56k Bee - shane.crozier - 31-08-2026 Just a question on the FileServer II motherboard - sanity check please? The Fileserver II board has connectors on it to match the 40 way (128k Bee) and 50 way (56k Bee ) Server machines If I'm not mistaken the 56k Microbee drew power from the disk enclosure via the 50 way cable? - But pins 49/50 in the FileServer II board go to ground and D0 on the PIO? Were the 56k bee's modified differently to use the FileServer II boards and get their power from a different source? RE: FileServer II Board & 56k Bee - MbeeTech - 31-08-2026 Hi Shane. Sorry for the delay in getting you the pictures of the floppy file server innards. Here they are: This one only has a 50Way connection on the FS motherboard, and it daisy-chains to the floppy disk controller board. I'll check out the pinout of the version with the 40 & 50 way on it as time permits. RE: FileServer II Board & 56k Bee - shane.crozier - 31-08-2026 Thankyou! - Thats great - I had always imagined the power supply had to be bigger to power the Server boards (and winchester) in the server chassis. RE: FileServer II Board & 56k Bee - MbeeTech - 31-08-2026 The hard disk version layout is completely different, and includes a much bigger switched mode supply in the top part of the case. |
