RE: Applix 1616 - Cefiar - 03-10-2023 Just FWIW: I am currently restoring an Applix1616 (with the kit case pictured recently) as part of RetroChallenge 2023. I'm documenting it over on the ACMS forum. https://forum.acms.org.au/t/retrochallenge-2023-10-applix1616-restoration-documentation/503?u=cefiar The Applix1616 I have is a Rev B motherboard with the 15 Mhz mod applied. I've also got 2x Disk controller boards (same board, differently populated), plus a memory expansion board. Early days yet, but doesn't look like there's anything wrong on the electronics side, tho I will be touching up a few things (eg: redo all the bodge wires, extra standoffs for the motherboard, etc). So far, most of this has been cleaning. Those holes in the back have let in a lot of dust, which is being stubborn.
RE: Applix 1616 - ChickenMan - 04-10-2023 Looking good, keep us update of your progress. RE: Applix 1616 - ChickenMan - 04-10-2023 This the bootup screen running under latest MAME emulator. RE: Applix 1616 - Cefiar - 10-10-2023 Had to resort to composite video but... Video test mode: And in run mode, I manged to get up a level 1 reset screen: ![]() Need to sort out better options for a screen, but definitely getting there. As always, details over at the ACMS forum post. RE: Applix 1616 - Cefiar - 27-10-2023 And now it boots off hard drive using a BlueSCSI!
