Good to hear the Mitac / Microbee is salvageable.
(Pity about the Mac. Hopefully someone out there will be interested in the carcass. There are plenty of people who would take the case / tube / drives off your hands and probably even pay you for them)

I was able to get a NOS chassis from the US - surprised me. And now the Mac is off for re-capping (I can't really do SMD). And yes, glad the Microbee is in good shape. I'm looking forward to getting it up and running.

Yes the rechargeable batteries were not a good idea, too bad large capacitors approaching 1 farad were not available in the Microbee's timeline
